Registered Hand Therapists (RHT) have undergone additional postgraduate training, a period of supervision and peer review, and gained at least 1800 hours of experience treating hand injuries and conditions. In New Zealand this process was established and is maintained by Hand Therapy New Zealand, the professional association in NZ representing registered Hand Therapists. Every 2 years, registered members are required to have accrued points through additional courses, conferences, etc., to maintain their status on the register.
